Panjab University Book Club

CONSTITUTION

1. Objectives: The objectives of the Club are to provide book lovers with easy access to the publications of the Panjab University and make these available to them with a view to popularize new literature in the languages of English, Hindi, Punjabi and Sanskrit and other areas of knowledge, culture and philosophy.
2. Membership: Membership is open to individuals, educational research and cultural institutions and professional bodies which agree to pay the membership fee and accept the Constitution of the Club. This membership is not open to booksellers, publishers and foreigners.
3. Membership Fee: Membership fee (non-refundable) will be Rs. 100/- for individuals and Rs. 2100/- for institutions.
4. Privileges of Members:
   1. Each member of Panjab University Book Club will be placed on the free mailing list for the catalogues of books published by Publication Bureau of the University.
   2. The intimation about individual books will be sent on reply-paid cards. A member may indicate on the cards the book(s) he/she may be interested to purchase.
   3. Each member will be entitled to a discount of 50% at the printed price of the book. Individual member will be allowed to purchase one copy of each publication at a time. Postal charges will be borne by the member. The books weighing more than 5 kg. will be supplied through Railway. Freight of railway parcel will be paid by the University to the nearest Railway Station. However, postal packing and insurance charges will be borne by the member.
   4. The required book(s) will be sent on receipt of advance payment from outside members by bank draft in favour of Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh drawn preferably at SBI, Panjab University, Chandigarh branch of the bank, whose code is 0742. The draft may be sent to the Honorary Director, Publication Bureau, Panjab University, Chandigarh directly.
   5. Books will not be sold on credit to individual members of the Club.
   6. This scheme will not be applicable on purchase of textbooks published by Publication Bureau and Research Journals published by Panjab University, Chandigarh.
   7. Payment through cheques will not be accepted.
5. Honorary Director, Publication Bureau, Panjab University, Chandigarh will be the Secretary of the Book Club.
